Hi everyone,
It’s time for our monthly writing prompts, but first I wanted to share some thoughts on slow creativity and enrollment for my fall group coaching cohort.
The creative life you want, the life that feels good and energizing to you, doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else. What works for your creative process doesn’t have to fit in with ’the rules’ or what other people do. Your pace is your pace. Your style is your style.
Overwhelm from trying to rush, force, and push will make your creative callings feel out of reach. But when you learn that there is a natural process at play, and what it feels like to generously give yourself what you need, old restrictions slowly fade.
Your emotional needs are being met, so you have more energy. Your spiritual needs are being met, so you have more faith. Your creative needs are being met, so you feel more inspired.
Once I realized that I could ease my anxiety and overwhelm + slow down without everything falling apart, I discovered that the slow down didn’t have to be a temporary thing just to recover here and there. Slow could be my unapologetic normal. Slow could be how I live, create, run my business, everything— and without sacrificing opportunity or abundance.
When I stopped being driven by a need to prove myself, and learned how to fuel my creative process through self-care, I found clarity, focus, and renewed energy.
The biggest takeaway here is that your pace is an expression of your authenticity, and you will thrive when you are true to yourself.
8 affirmations for slow creativity
I am worthy and capable of living the creative life I dream about without neglecting my emotional well-being.
When I carve out time to be still, embrace my own silence, breathe deeply and let my mind rest, I tap into resources that I didn't know I had.
I can tune out of hustle culture and find my own pace and lane without sacrificing opportunity or abundance.
I can schedule my life to experience it deeply and create a pace that is empowering for me.
Understanding my needs, values, and gifts on a deeper level allows me to create from a place of joy, flow, and service.
When I am deeply in tune with my well-being, I’m an ideal vessel for creative expression.
When I honor my natural rhythms and build grace into my days, I can cope with external pressures in more productive and beneficial ways.
Creative faith is about being joyful in the process of co-creating with something bigger than me, and that involves faith and surrender, as well as action.

Participants come into the Mastermind with different needs: encouraging feedback on their writing, coaching on the creative mindset, guidance on building a writer platform, help with researching and finding resources, exercises for creative development, accountability that ends procrastination, and more. Together, we demystify processes, make plans, and build momentum. You can learn more about the program here.
