from the book:
“This deeper level of forgiveness that I’d been pursuing, and that I took one step further with my parents, meant that I was not only seeking peace within myself and working on letting go of the negative feelings, but I also saw it as an opportunity to look at them through a different lens. I considered who they might have been in their twenties and thirties, thought about the childhood pain and traumas they might need to heal from, and started to view them with more empathy and compassion. This gave me wisdom and insight to start viewing everyone in my life this way.”

I am so thankful Chianti Lomax brought this guide for Black women's authentic happiness, healing, and radical transformation into the world.
She talks about healing and positive psychology in a way that is so down-to-earth and relatable, I feel like many of us could give this book to some of our more stubborn family members who don’t ’believe’ in therapy and they would actually resonate with it.
I also admire how she weaves personal stories and cultural references into the narrative which really creates a connection like I'm talking to someone I know, someone who knows the narratives and beliefs that I grew up with in the Black community and the joys and challenges that come with that.
The concepts she shares are transformational and universal, no matter your racial or cultural background. I’m excited to chat with her tonight about the book, her creative journey and process, and the themes that drive her work as a coach and writer.
You are invited to join us tonight at 6 pm et on Zoom. Details below. (Please note: The book giveaway has closed.)
