If you’re new here, Story Work is the name of my current book-in-progress. It describes a process of reflection, reclaiming, and reimagining the stories of our lives. It involves looking at your life experiences as creative material that you have the power to shape.
The weekly Story Work topics cover universal life themes with references from literature, philosophy, science, and spirituality; offering perspectives that spark ideas for personal growth and creative expression.

This is our last week with the Time Travel theme. I’m fascinated with the concept of time, so I’ve really enjoyed this journey. Here’s a quick recap:
time travel - What can we do with the creative ability to travel backward and forward in time, particularly when it comes to emotional healing work and exploring what it means to be human?
ending the loop - What is a time loop and what is life trying to teach us through the patterns we see in our lives over and over again? What do we need to learn so we can move on?
hindsight travel - What is time tourism and how can we use the power of hindsight to awaken creativity instead of regret?
This week our question comes from the concept of déjà vu. Déjà vu is a French term that translates to “already dreamed.” It’s the feeling of having dreamed or already experienced something that is currently happening. It occurs when we are convinced that we recognize a particular situation, but we aren’t sure why. It could be a smell, scene, a conversation, or a series of events. Sometimes there’s a sense of precognition that comes with déjà vu when the experience is familiar, and you also have an intuitive knowing of what will happen next.
Does this ever happen to you?
