If you’re new here, Story Work is the name of my current book-in-progress. It describes a process of reflecting, reclaiming, and reimagining the stories of our lives. It involves looking at your life experiences as creative material that you have the power to shape.

The weekly story work topics cover universal life themes with references from literature, philosophy, science, and spirituality; offering perspectives that spark ideas for personal growth and creative expression.

Paid subscribers receive Story Work exercises every Sunday night at 8 pm et.

Read on for a preview of the weekly exercise.

Hi friends,

From the moment you wake up each day, Life is conspiring to co-create with you. Everything we see, smell, hear, touch, and taste is an offering.

Every exchange, conversation, and interaction is an opportunity. Each choice you make is an expression, a creative decision.

Every day is a page in the book of your life. When you look at it this way, you may be inclined to slow down, to become more mindful and observant.

You might soak up each song you hear more ravenously. You might prepare your food with more reverence. Maybe the smell of fresh-cut grass or cigarette smoke or vanilla lotion will transport you to another time and place and you will surrender and go for the ride.

When you face a detour, maybe you will embrace the unexpected adventure. Maybe curiosity will start to overcome fear, and gratitude will drown out lack. This is creative living. Our story work exercise for this week is an introduction to everyday creativity.
