Hi friends,
One of my favorite mantras lately has been: Time is on my side.
I am leaning further into the concept of time abundance and taking great care in listening to my body and managing my time and energy with intention. I’m tired of treating time like an enemy, a shadow of scarcity always chasing me. I am experimenting with my ability to stretch and manipulate time. To expect the gift of time and still respect it. To face the boundaries of time without losing sight of the creative possibilities. What does that look and feel like? How do I expand my capacity to harness time with a sense of joy and gratitude instead of stress and lack?
What are your thoughts on time abundance? How does your relationship with time affect your creative practice? How do you respect time without feeling stifled by it? What practices support you in this effort?
Below I am sharing the writing prompts for March. How will you harness your time and energy this month to create space for writing and expression?
I send these prompts each month as offerings to nurture your creative practice. You can use them however you like. Write a sentence, a paragraph, a whole story. You can use one each day to trigger a moment of reflection, tempting you to pick up your pen and write a poem or recall a memory or describe a scene. You can challenge yourself to fit all of them into one story or train of thought. The purpose is to explore your creative impulses.
Creative writing is a sweet escape from the madness happening in the world around us. If you’d like to write in community with us, we have our free monthly writing workshop later this month where we will write to these prompts together. Usually it’s on the first Friday but this month we’ll be meeting on the second Friday, March 14 from 7-8 pm et. New faces are always welcome, and sharing is optional. You can RSVP here. Be sure to add it to your calendar.
I love this reframing of time. And thank you for the prompts.
