If you’re new here, Story Work is the name of my current book-in-progress. It describes a process of reflection, reclaiming, and reimagining the stories of our lives. It involves looking at your life experiences as creative material that you have the power to shape. Paid subscribers receive Story Work exercises every Sunday night at 8 pm et.
Also a reminder, registration for The Creative Courage Writing Intensive ends tonight at midnight eastern standard time. We start the journey on Thursday. You can learn more here.
Read on for a preview of our weekly exercise.
Vulnerability will draw certain people to you, and it will push others away.
Instead of fearing this, what if we looked at this positioning as divine alignment, trusting that being vulnerable and authentic will attract the experiences that our souls desire? What if we showed up in our writing and creative work with the audacity to be too much? To be unapologetically in tune with our unique obsessions? Can you imagine the liberation? Can you imagine how magnetic and in flow you would be?
This is why courage is the heart of all creative work. We bring the inside out and put it on display in a world where we can’t control how we will be perceived. We show up with no external guarantees, driven by the pursuit of inner fulfillment.
