I'm a slow writer, too! I feel seen (and relieved) whenever I bump into another slow writer because I used to think there was something wrong with me or that I wasn't as talented as I thought I was. I, too, excelled in the classroom and in corporate America but I have the same disconnect between ambition and execution creatively, whether it's a short term or long term writing project. I do find that I'm okay with structure; it's the routine part that I always had a problem with. But I struggle with incorporating structure in my creative endeavors.

Like, I'll have a routine that works for a season or for a certain project, and then I have to switch things up and adjust as needed. By now I have a toolbox of different methods and routines that I can refer to and expand upon as I'm challenged in new ways. The key takeaway is to lean into your strengths and experiment a lot!
